SCOTUS RULING FACILITATES FASCISM

Another Supreme Court early April decision to allow Donald Trump expanded power to deport those he claims are either in the US illegally or are members of South American gangs with no due process further serves the interests of -- not the American People, not our nation's democratic values -- but only the interests of one Donald Trump, hell-bent on ruling as the first American dictator.  Without strict commitment to and enforcement of our constitutional rights, we commit only the unforced error of eroding our institutions, our culture, our identity here and around the world as "the land of the free." By invoking the "Alien Enemies Act of 1798" in this ruling, Trump and his thugs are now freer to round up whomever they decide are "alien enemies" or, one may imagine, a "collaborator" with America's enemies. No charges, no Miranda rights, no legal representation -- and when he disregards the flimsy guardrails of the ruling -- no recourse for the court or the People they are supposed to serve.
